Hospice: End-of-Life Care in Keizer

Hospice, or end of life care, is a life-affirming philosophy of care and support system to help the dying and their loved ones find peace and maintain dignity in the final stages of life. The focus of hospice is on palliative care, not curing diseases. Palliative care is treatment that relieves discomfort and enhances quality of life.Arbor Memory Care (12)

At The Arbor, we strongly believe providing care at the end-of-life is a sacred and honored opportunity. We work closely with a trusted group of community partners and health-care professionals to create a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes. Compassionate Hospice guidance is also extended to the patient’s loved ones as well.

Every person is different, and the paths to the end of their lives will vary. Our Hospice program is focused on peacefulness during this last stage of the resident’s life. Our community partners provide non-invasive care to maximize comfort. Aggressive treatments are avoided because it can cause more suffering than justified.
